Join us for an evening of gospel and spirituals by Williston Alumni Community Choir. The choir’s history dates to 1984 when members of the former Williston High School Glee Club organized an alumni group called the Williston Alumni Choral Ensemble. In 2011 the Ensemble combined with The Wilmington Community Choir to form the current Williston  Alumni Community Choir. The Williston School was founded in 1866 by the abolitionist American Missionary Association after the Union army occupied Wilmington during the civil war. It served freed slaves. The institution was closed as a high school in 1968 as part of desegregation. This caused disturbances, resulting in the wrongly-convicted and imprisoned Wilmington Ten, who became internationally known as freedom-fighters. The choir brings the heart and soul of the school’s history and the alumni experience to its rendition of songs of triumph and hope that will uplift our community.

With his debut single release, “My Sweet Caroline”, from his new EP, “Broken Heart”, Sean Michael Kaye is putting his creative mark on the worldwide music scene.

Produced by Grammy Award-Winner Chuck Ebert, the new pop/rock artist features the essence of Matchbox 20, Gavin Degraw, and John Mayer, but with a distinctive ‘one of a kind’ Sean Michael Kaye sound. “Sean’s vocals and songwriting are definitely a winning combination for this modern rocker,” says Ebert. “Guy’s got talent and I can’t wait to hear more!”

Food truck ‘All About Churros’ will be present, and we will be unveiling our brand new t-shirts for sale!
CAC&G is also seeking sponsorships for the mural. Interested sponsors may find out more at https://www.cravenarts.org/new-bern-strong-mural.html#/

We’re proud to announce the rescheduled date for The Will McBride Group is April 27, 2024. This rescheduled concert will follow a traditional format with tickets being show-only rather than a “Party Package.” An extended intermission “meet the band mingle” in the Studio and Lobby Bars is planned where an excellent selection of beers, wines and other beverages will be available for purchase. The Arts in April Music Festival is an annual event offering a blend of free and ticketed live music happenings in downtown New Bern. Don’t miss The Will McBride Group and other fantastic live music April 27th.
The Will McBride Group is a North Carolina based band with the vibe of Steely Dan (only funkier), John Mayer (but jazzier), Santana (with more vocal), and Stevie Wonder (except edgier). It’s guaranteed good time groove. Since 2009, songs from their four studio albums have been in rotation on 120 FM/Internet stations worldwide and listened to over 175,000 times. They’ve opened for ZZ Top, Styx, Eddie Money, Leon Russell, Steve Miller Band, Mother’s Finest, Delbert McClinton, and more. Their fifth studio album (Oct ’23) is now on all music outlets and already receiving critical acclaim from veteran North Carolina radio hosts.
Doors open for seating at 7:00PM with the concert starting at 7:30PM. All tickets $24.00 (including fees).

Classical Sounds Evolved. Classically trained musician, Jacqueline Farrell, performs a solo piano recital based on the idea that music is a continuously evolving art form, both in a historical sense and in the short-term sense that it takes time for a piece of music to unfold. Starting with Beethoven’s classic “Waldstein” Sonata and ending with Chopin’s story-filled Ballade No.1, this performance is intended to take the audience on a journey of sound development and evolution. Other pieces on the program include Ravel’s Jeux d’eau, Berg’s Sonata for piano, and Jacqueline’s own improvisation on the Berceuse musical form. Enjoy these works and more in the beautiful acoustics of Christ Episcopal Church.
