Garden Lecture Series – February
February 8, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
“Of Quilts and Gardens: How Gardening Weaves Us Together”
Our 2020 Garden Lecture Series continues, Saturday, February 8, with a lecture from Bryce Lane, three-time Emmy Award winning television personality, on “Of Quilts and Gardens: How Gardening Weaves Us Together”.
Gardening is craft…just like quilting. It involves learning concepts and principles, practicing techniques, using the right tools, and applying our own creativity to that special project. Gardening connects us as we are often inspired by other’s endeavors, or if we are lucky, another gardener shares a special plant with us! This talk shares how gardening connects people and fosters special relationships, recounting personal gardening stories that inspire us to continue in this wonderful craft!
In addition to his work as a TV personality, Lane is an Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor Emeritus at North Carolina State University and an avid gardener.
This lecture is free and begins at 10 a.m. in Cullman Performance Hall at the North Carolina History Center.
