New Bern Mardi Gras in Historic Ghent

The historic Ghent Neighborhood in New Bern is hosting its sixth annual New Bern Mardi Gras festival on Saturday, February 26nd from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Spencer Avenue.

Festivities will be held at Spencer Avenue at 3rd Street. The parade will begin at 3 p.m. at Spencer Avenue and 8th Street, and will end at Spencer Avenue and 2nd Street.

The event will feature vendors, artists, food trucks, live music all day, costumed performers, and of course, the Mardi Gras King and Queen.

Sponsorships are available, and now’s the time to register as a vendor and/or to be in the parade.

All ages are welcome and encouraged to dress in costume.

After having to cancel last years festivities due to COVID we are ready to bring back this family friendly event that will host 5 musical acts as well as a parade.

2 pm – Bryan Mayer
3 pm – Parade featuring Jonkonnu, Fife & Drum Corps
4 pm – Madame Z’s Cabaret

New Bern Puppets will be doing several marionette shows throughout the day.
